- Tom Cruise is was married, until recently, to Australian Actress Nicole Kidman.  The pair met of the set of a film - "Far And Away".
- Tom Cruise has often battled the press, denying that he is homosexual - marrying Kidman, and adopting children simply as a way of keeping himself in 'the closet'.  He won his court cases.
- Tom Cruise currently dates Penelope Cruz.

Top Gun	Top Gun was one of the defining films of the 80's, truly launching Cruise's role as a sex icon.  Taking the role of 'Maverick', the reckless pilot, playing opposite 'Iceman' Val Kilmer and 'Goose' Anthony Edwards.  The film also starred Meg Ryan and Kelly McGuinness - he hasn't looked back since!  The film featured hit smooching song 'Take My Breath Away'.
Interview With A Vampire	Some years later, Cruise famously used a voice-deepening device to create the role of the vampire LeStat, the vampire who just didn't want to die from Anne Rice's books.  The film also starred 90's sex icon Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater and babe-in-progress Kirsten Dunst.
Jerry Maguire	Another defining moment for Cruise, playing the title role - a sports agent who makes it good with his own agency... finding love on the way with Renee Zellwegger. The film shot Cuba Gooding Jr to fame and also starred Kelly Preston, Jerry O'Connell and child star Jonathan Lipnicki.  Everyone together: SHOW ME THE MONEEEEEEEY!
Mission: Impossible	Cruise doesn't just act... he produces too!!!  Cruise decided to bring back 70's series Mission: Impossible, this time on the big screen.  Despite being a little confusing the film was a success with Cruise as lone agent Ethan Hunt, starring with Ving Rhames, Jean Reno and Jon Voigt.  The film is now a franchise, with M:I:3 currently being cast.
Minority Report	The latest big Cruise movie, teaming him up with superstar director Steven Speilberg.  Set in the future, playing cop John Anderton, the story revolves around the idea of pre-crime cops... stopping crimes before they're committed, with the thanks to three 'pre-cog's' able to see the future.  Also starred Christopher Plummer and Brit-star Samantha Morton.
