THE SIDNEY SAGA

The Sidney Saga is Tobias Nicholls' version of a sitcom.  It's an ongoing story made up of short plays.  Tobias has six plays planned, three of which have already been performed.  There is also currently a script being prepared for TV!

The Story

The story has two major strands.  The A plot revolves around the relationship of the two main characters Tristen Matthews and Beverly Stevens, as they go move from their first date to married life to impending parenthood.  The B plot focuses in on the love triangle between their three friends Martin Green, Helen Cryer, and Adrian Downing.  In case you're now wondering where Sidney comes into this... he's Beverly's pet spider.  With Tristen a diehard arachnophobic, there lies hilarious consequences!

The storyline and themes are spread out over individual plays that can be seen in conjunction with the other parts or as a play in their own right.  So far parts one, four, and six of the story have been performed.  Exit Sidney, by far the most impressive, stands out due to it being the only half hour play in the line (instead of a standard ten minute format), and due to the fact that it won principal actor/creator Tobias Nicholls the Best Youth Actor award at the Hunstanton Festival Of Arts 1999!

Below you will find character descriptions and story outlines. Bare in mind, however, that the plot lines for the three unwritten chapters are subject to change.  When it actually comes to writing them Tobias could write ANYTHING!!!
