Just Looking

I look, dreamy, at the midnight sky.
As I gaze, I reach to grasp,
The glitter tight within my palm;
To blow this magic dust...
- And wish for you, loving, by my side.

I look, wishing of you, loving, by my side,
At a void in my life, an empty gap;
Desperate to be filled...
- And wish for you and your caring touch.

I look, remembering your caring touch,
As if it remained as real as today...
- And wish for you to sing your song.

I listen, hearing you sing your song;
But the song has been sung.

I just look.

Edge Of Fantasy

Watching the darkness come for me,
I raise my fists, prepared to fight,
Living on the edge of fantasy.

How foolish - stupid - can I be?
I know, this idea wasn't right!
watching the darkness come for me...

Closing my eyes I refused to see,
A horrid face coming from the night...
Living on the edge of fantasy.

But then a surge, I felt so free,
So I turned (and stood) to face the sight,
Watching the darkness come for me.

Would I be strong enough to be,
The victor against the great dark might?
Living on the edge of fantasy.

And yet I knew I had my destiny,
And filled in strength from unknown light,
Watching the darkness come for me:
Living on the edge of fantasy.
