How Did Christina Join Purple Dreams?
- Reluctantly! Tobias has a strict no-partners rule.
Well, it was strict! The third Sidney Saga
play to be performed was also the first to feature all five
characters. Originally Brenda Andrews was all set to return to her role as
Beverly Matthews, but had to pull out at the last moment due to illness.
Christina, Tobias' real-life girlfriend stepped in to save the day! Before
just on the side-lines, Tristen's Trauma marked Christina's first involvement
with Purple Dreams! Since then Christina has become more involved
off-stage, acting as the company's associate producer... although she did
venture onstage for one more appearance in 'Tempus Fudged-It'
|
| Tristen's
Trauma - Christina only joined the group
when one of the actors dropped out. She wasn't at all happy woth the
idea but stepped in to save the day, playing 'Beverly Matthews' playing
opposite her off stage boyfriend Tobias. The role was significantly
cut down to nothing more than a cameo, but it must have been a weird
possible glimpse into the couple's future... Beverly's scene is when she
goes into labour!!! |
| Darius
- Christina wasn't present during the performance, but did proof read the
script, commenting on bits here and there, thus beginning her role as the
groups 'associate producer'. |
| Tempus
Fudged-It - Another guest spot for
Christina, this time playing a role she should be very comfortable in - a
teacher (Christina is now a qualified primary school teacher). It
was just a small role, but she still wasn't happy and has pretty much
vowed never to return onstage. |
| Axis
- Questioning just exactly what she does as an associate producer,
Christina soon found out what when the group hit troubled times. She
took control of the group, adding encouragement, while the executive
producers (Nicholls & Clutterbuck) were dealing with lights and sound
with the stage manager... and acting as the audience during
rehearsals. She also calmed down some heated situations between some
of the cast members. |
| Christina's
future with Purple Dreams - Going out
with the company's creator pretty much means that Christina can't escape
the group's activities. When the next production finally gets up a
running she will continue her role as associate producer. |
