Light Sabre Watch

This film sees 3 key characters use light sabres.  Jedi Master Quin-Gon Jinn uses a green sabre, while his Padawan, Kenobi, wields a blue one.  Sith Lord, Darth Maul, uses a double-edged red sabre.

Jedi Battles

Although there is a fight in the desert, between Qui-Gon and Darth Maul, the big fight is saved until the end.  The fight begins with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan taking on the cocky Darth Maul.  Through the battle, the two jedi's are separated, and Obi-Wan can only but helplessly watch as Maul thrusts his sabre through Qui-Gon's chest.  Obi-Wan, in rage, attacks Maul, and eventually kills him, chopping him in half.  It is too late though, as Qui-Gon dies.

How Does It End?

The day seems to be won, with parades in the street.  Obi-Wan has become a fully-fledged Jedi, and now has is own Padawan in the young Anakin.  However, Yoda sense that that all is not well... the Dark Lords of the Sith have appeared, and whilst Maul is dead, the Sith always come in pairs - a Master and an Appentice.  Which was Maul?  The camera pans, and zeros in on Palpatine... now Supreme Chancellor.
